

JAMES PIERRE-GLAUDE
BOARD MEMBER
As a healthcare provider, educator, entrepreneur, and leader, Dr. James Pierre-Glaude has over fifteen years of experience in fostering positive change within the lives of his patients, clients, and students. Dr. Pierre-Glaude is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Stony Brook University’s School of Health Professions as well as the School’s Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging. Dr. Pierre-Glaude earned his Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training at Stony Brook University. He is currently in the dissertation phase of a Ph.D. in Curriculum, Instruction, Science and Learning, investigating cultural competency training in graduate healthcare education. Most recently, Dr. Pierre- Glaude completed a certificate program from University at Albany on Advancing Cultural Competence in the healthcare workforce as well as a certificate in Building a Diverse Workforce from Cornell University.
Dr. Pierre-Glaude is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist in Physical Therapy,
Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Certified Athletic Trainer, and is currently a
member of the National Athletic Trainers Association, American Physical Therapy Association,
National Strength and Conditioning Association and the Kinesio Taping Association. Dr. Pierre-
Glaude is a former Regional Representative for the NYS Athletic Trainers’ Association (NYSATA) as well as the Chair of the American Physical Therapy Association – NY Chapter’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
For the past 8 years, Dr. Pierre-Glaude has owned and operated a sports/orthopedic outpatient
physical therapy practice that predominantly serves athletes and those who are physically
active. Dr. Pierre-Glaude has accompanied physical therapy students on service trips to Haiti in
2017 where he worked with and supervised physical therapy students treating patients with
orthopedic conditions. He has also supervised physical therapy and athletic training students
while treating patients at the New York City Marathon finish line medical tent.
Dr. Pierre-Glaude currently serves as the Director of Sports Medicine/Performance for the US National Amputee Soccer Team (USNAST). His service with the USNAST has allowed him to publish a manuscript focused on establishing a baseline for the agility and fitness level of amputee soccer players. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the American Amputee Soccer Association
